Your own ordering VS a monthly platform
Several companies will put online ordering on your website for a monthly fee. Here is the same service, side by side, so you can see what you are actually renting.
| Monthly ordering platforms | AmeriDesigned | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | $119 to $499 every month, forever | None. You pay once and you are done |
| Cost over three years | $4,284 to $17,964 | The price of your package, paid once |
| Where the site lives | On their platform | WordPress, on your own hosting |
| Your domain | Points at their system | Registered in your name, and it stays yours |
| If you stop paying | Ordering stops, and usually the site with it | Nothing stops. There is nothing to cancel |
| Commission on each order | None on their platform, but 15% to 30% if the order comes through a delivery app | None. Every dollar of the food is yours |
| Delivery without drivers | Through their courier partners | DoorDash Drive or Uber Direct, $6.99 to $10.99 flat per delivery, no commission |
| Card payments | Through their processor | Your own Stripe account. The money lands in your bank, not theirs |
| Your customer list | Lives on their platform | Yours, on your own site |
| Refunds and sold-out items | You manage them | You manage them, from your phone |
To be fair to them: that monthly fee includes ongoing support and updates. With us the first two weeks after launch are covered, and after that help is charged by the hour, so you only pay when you actually need something.
Running the ordering yourself is cheaper, but it is not free of work. Both sides, plainly.
- Every dollar of the food price stays with you. No commission on a single order.
- No monthly platform fee, so the cost does not grow as your sales grow.
- The customer name, phone number and order history belong to you, not to a platform.
- You set the menu, the prices and the hours, and you change them yourself in minutes.
- Pickup needs nothing extra: no courier, no third party, no revenue share.
- Deposits on large tables and catering are taken up front, before the kitchen commits.
- You answer the orders. A phone or tablet has to be watched during service.
- Sold-out items are yours to switch off, or the order still comes through.
- Refunds and mistakes are handled by you, in your own Stripe dashboard.
- Delivery needs a courier partner such as DoorDash Drive or Uber Direct, and their per-delivery fee still applies.
- Card processing of roughly 2.9% plus 30¢ applies on every order, as it does everywhere.
- No marketplace browsing traffic. Customers arrive from your own channels, not from an app.
Receive deposits and make reservations within your website.
No-shows cost a restaurant more than almost anything else. Taking a small deposit at the moment of booking is the single most effective fix, and it is built in.
- Deposit on large parties only, so ordinary bookings stay frictionless
- The amount comes straight off the final bill
- Automatic reminder by email and text 24 hours before
- Free cancellation window you choose, then the deposit is retained
- Catering and private hire take a percentage up front
- Card details handled by Stripe or PayPal, never stored on your site
Receive payments and help your customers find you on Google

AmeriDesigned designs and builds the website and connects the booking and payment tools. That is where our part ends.
From launch onwards you manage the site, your calendar and your customers. Every appointment, every booking and every online payment is taken by you, through accounts that are in your name and under your control. Deposits and payments from your customers go straight to your own payment account. AmeriDesigned never receives, holds or refunds your customers’ money, and does not manage your bookings for you.

Questions and answers
But I saw one that builds a website in 60 seconds, free
You did, and it is real. Here is the part those tools do not put on the homepage, so you can decide with the whole picture.
- The site lives on their platform. Stop paying and it disappears, along with everything Google had indexed.
- Free until you take orders. Then you are inside their payment system, on their terms.
- A template filled in from your restaurant name and a few words.
- Their own site says online ordering takes 72 hours to go live. The 60 seconds is the draft.
- Kiosks, terminals and upgrades are quoted separately, on request.
- The site is yours. WordPress, your hosting, your domain, in your name.
- Paid once. No monthly fee and no commission on a single order.
- Designed around your menu, your busiest nights and how you actually take bookings.
- Live in 7 to 15 business days, and the price is published before you talk to anyone.
- If you ever leave us, you take the site with you. There is nothing to cancel.
Delivery apps keep between 15% and 30% of every order they bring you. Your own site keeps 100%, so we put your menu, your phone number and your own ordering first, and the delivery buttons second.
What happens to my site if I stop paying you?
Nothing happens. You pay once, and the site is yours: WordPress, on your own hosting, with the domain registered in your name. There is no subscription to cancel and nothing for anyone to switch off. Hosting and the domain renew each year, paid directly by you to your provider.
Do you take a commission on my orders?
No. Not on a single order, ever. Money from your customers goes straight into your own payment account. AmeriDesigned never receives, holds or refunds your customers’ money. The only cost per order is the card processing fee your payment provider charges, which is around 2.9% plus 30¢ and applies everywhere.
Who deals with refunds and items that sell out?
You do, and that is deliberate. Refunds are two clicks in your own Stripe dashboard, and sold-out items are switched off from your phone. Nobody sits between you and your customer, which means nobody can hold your money or answer for you.
Can I offer delivery if I do not have drivers?
Yes. Your site sends the order to a courier network such as DoorDash Drive or Uber Direct, and one of their drivers collects it. You keep the full menu price and pay only the delivery fee, which you can pass on to the customer. It is not the same as being listed on the app, so there is no 15% to 30% marketplace commission.
How long does the build take?
Seven to fifteen business days depending on the workload, and usually seven. The clock starts when the deposit is paid and the design brief comes back, so the quickest projects are the ones where the menu and photos arrive early.
